Sorry to hear of Ulrich passing.
For all his genius it is the simple small moments that stand out to me, human things, most around food with a red wine or a beer.
One day making pizza at my place in Elanora, Xmas parties when the glass of red dropped his guard a bit.
The AXT breakfast, post Xmas party, at Ulrich and Kays home where he went to great lengths to establish an insurmountable standard for breakfast extravagance.
The kind heartfelt words that he would share often surprisingly out of the blue.
The works he would not say then release (after a glass knocked them free) in a very long e-mail to arrive for early morning reading.
He will be missed but not lost as he shared something meaningful that makes me smile when I remember him.
Very sorry to hear of Ulrich's passing I knew him from his days at BHP, ANU and worked with him at AXT.
I did enjoy a great meal or 2 with him at the Kaiser Stubn hoffbrau house in Terry Hills.
He had a great and very dry sense of humour and was internationally recognised as a top expert in his field. Condolences to his family.

I am sorry to hear of Ulrich's passing. I worked with him for many years enjoying his humor and wit and inelegance. I remember meals we had together and his love of cooking. condolences to all the family.

Hi Kay and family, I have great memories of the Ulrich and the times we spent together over the years. Memories that will not be forgotten including his favourite meal - Crayfish in Fiji. I always had the highest respect and regards for Ulrich, quiet intellect and and unassuming personality.
