Very sad to hear of the passing of Michael (Mick) Cliffe, LCDR, RAN (Ret). Mick spent some time at HMAS Albatross, was well know, and well liked. He will be missed as a supporter of Legacy and his contributions to the community. A generous man, a witty storyteller, and good friend. VALE Mick Cliffe. Phill Newlyn and Lyndal Parker-Newlyn.

Mick was wonderfully generous - always caring and willing to help those in need. He had a joke for every occasion, and an amazing ability to deliver them. We always enjoyed catching up with him on our visits to Nowra. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. Our thoughts are with his family to whom we send our deepest sympathy. Rest in peace Mick.

Mick was a dear friend for the last 30 years. Over the last few years he provided incredible friendship and support to me as I struggled with my health. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him and he always did it with a smile. I will miss him greatly. Condolences to his family.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin. Although life carried us in different directions and we have not seen each other for many decades, I often find myself returning to a photograph of us as children. In it, we are simply young cousins—unaware of time, distance, or how life would unfold—sharing a brief moment of family and childhood innocence. That image has remained a quiet reminder that, even when years and miles separate us, there are bonds that once existed and mattered deeply. I wish we had had the chance to reconnect later in life, but I will hold onto that early memory and the place you once had in our family story. With sympathy to all who knew and loved you. From the ‘Cotton’ cousins David, Richard & Jacqueline

Mick was always a good friend, from the first time we met, when he was a Petty Officer, up till he was a Commander. Always in with a joke and available to assist. You will be missed. Thank you Sir. Fair seas and following winds.
