Dear Julian, Stephen, David, Kate & Louise, The M.A.C. at Nowra Private Hospital has donated to the Shepherd Centre in honour and in memory of Col. Col was such a huge part of the medical community and his life, his work and input to medicine in Nowra will be remembered and will continue to influence many doctors still for years to come. Whilst Col was adept at delivery of medical care across a wide range of disciplines, he was a great example of how doctors should practice - not just with clinical competence but with a genuine care and a heart for each and every person he came in contact with. We will remember him well and strive to follow his example of care and compassion. regards, Dr Adam J Hodgkins NWP MAC Chairperson and Prudence Buist NWP CEO on behalf of the Nowra Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee Members

The shepherds were always a part of my life. I was lucky to be able to extend this with my friendships with his kids - especially once in Nowra to be a part of Kate and Daves and then Katia's life. From summer times at Swan Bay when he was sitting drinking in the water with friends by our boat and his chair wobbled and he fell backwards into the water and saved his glass of beer that was the only thing above the surface ...to the days at Currarong at Cactus Cottage to times when in the fold of the whole Shepherd clan to always being very present and aknoweldged people and all around him. His constant graditude was noticable. there is more I can write, but I won't - I will wait to see you all in person hopefully when these bloody boarders open by Christmas and I will share and laugh with you then. xxx end of an era. much love, Miffy, Stuart, Poppy and Rose Llewellyn

So many fond memories of this extraordinary big, bubbly man, with his Muttley chuckling laugh. He was so much more than this though. His kindness and generosity of spirit and natural tendency to help others in need, is keen in my memories of him. Having lived abroad for many years and come back to face difficult times, Col called out of the blew as my Godfather and spent many hours offering kind words of love and support. He will be very much missed and I send all my love and prayers to Jules and the rest of the family. Lots of love Georgie Conlon xox

An amazing man never to be forgotten. Col was so bubbly every time I saw him. He lightened the room and will never be forgotten by me or anyone at Junction Street Family Practice. Another angel taken too soon xx

Condolences to all the family especially Julian my thoughts are with you . I had the privilege of working with Dr Shepherd in the 70's and early 80's and I have nothing but fond memories. We all worked hard in the Operating Suite at SDMH and he always was kind funny and considerate to staff and patients . It feels like yesterday and may he rest in peace. Kind regards and love Heather Fryer

Col was my doctor and my friend. He delivered my babies and my grandchildren. Whenever I had a problem, he was there with advise and help and sometimes a hug. Even recently when we met in town we shared a joke and the latest family news. I can not imagine not ever seeing him again. Rest in peace my friend. Condolences to Julian and the family.
