To Gwyneth, Jen and Family. A long time coming, this message. But I just found this page while surfing the internet.
Donna and I will miss our many times visiting with Nobby and Ethel. First meeting him as my Divisional Officer in 1965, when I was only eighteen, I thought, "what an eccentric character" my divisional officer was. His explosive reply to my request to marry a girl I'd only known for three weeks over leave. I felt he was going to bust a boiler that day. But he signed the document, calling me all sorts of names. About fifteen years later, I rang him at his home in Currarong, and he picked out my voice all that time later.
"Is that Lcmdr Hall?" I asked. "Is that the stupid Dutch kid who married that gorgeous sixteen year old shiela from WA?"
I was gobsmacked. We reconnected. Me, a lot older and understanding, he just remained Nobby.

My husband John & I would like to express our sorrow at the passing of such an amazing man & an Australian everyone should be proud to know.
His long life & dedication to the service is a great testimony to the man he was.
You should be very proud of his achievements - we as patriotic Australians certainly are!
