Tribute to Bob
In 1970, I started a small appliance repair business, Nowra Repair Service. As the business grew, it became increasingly difficult to find skilled people in the trade.
Around that time, Bob was leaving the Navy, and fortunately our paths crossed. That meeting led to Bob joining the business, and in time we became business partners. What followed was a 20‑year partnership built on complete trust and genuine friendship. In all those years, I can’t recall a single cross word between us. Bob had the most easy‑going nature imaginable.
Later on, our wives, Jan and Peggy, joined the business as partners as well, making it truly a family venture.
There are so many great memories: fishing trips to Brooman, Friday arvo pub visits where we solved the problems of the world, and even a collective family marriage that cemented a friendship for life.
Rest in peace, Bob.
