Éilish and I were saddened to hear of Eugene’s passing and we extend our deepest sympathies to you, Penna, and Martin, Steve, James and Joseph and the extended O’Connor family.
I have fond memories of playing with Eugene during our early schoolboy years in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon in Ireland. We lived on the same street and played in one another’s houses.
We lost contact with one another, but later on in life we were glad to resume our friendship and it was lovely to meet up in 2005 when we visited Eugene and Penna in Nowra.
It was also nice for our two families to reconnect when James visited us in Galway.
May his gentle soul Rest In Peace (Suaimhneas síoraí do Eugene).
