I don’t know what age I was when I met David, I was a child soon after a young adolescent… I remember him so well even though details of the where and when escape me. He was always there, quietly there steady and secure- a grown up I could stand beside and know I’d be .. well whatever I needed to be! His eyes always smiled and his heart always shone through - he was quiet in his youth but his eyes spoke volumes and always beckoned a chat or a she’ll be right, come here and that noise will pass or we can sit together and wait or just always there. I remember security and friendship, incredible mate-ship from a young band of men who had been through some stuff and shared too much. Emotion not the strong point for young men- the not spoken of much - bonded them like super glue next level and together they where stronger and always better.
Decades have passed and I am older and wiser. Built with the fabric made with thread from a wide diverse range of personal input, I now realise that Specky was only a decade older than me! A guy who was interested in kid attached to a mate of his, even more a little girl who remembers his smiling eyes and kindness. The ability to make anyone feel they belong, incredible loyalty, immense kindness and of course those smiling eyes the world has lost a spark. I thank God for Specky and in the decades that have passed I’ve been able to show an interest in someone else’s kid too. Thanks David- sending love and condolences to Leisa and the family and friends at this very sad time. Those smiling eyes are closed and at rest.
Love Heidi x ( Margo and Wayne’s kid)

My sincere condolences to Leasa and David’s family. David was a man of enormous generosity who freely provided time, care and consideration to his peers, and to those less fortunate than himself. A gentleman. A friend. And now a loss to all who knew him. He is missed . Nigel Hutchinson
