To Dear Marie and Family, I heard on the grapevine the sad news of Syds passing, whilst living in Sydney. I have known Syd since I was 15 years, when I used to hang around the stables at the trotting track in Nowra, over 40 years ago. I remember the horses back in the day were Crown and Anchor and one horse that comes to my mind is As She Sails (Angie stable name) which I rode trackwork many times over the years. Syd you gave me the name Smokey, which stuck with me for many years. RIP My Mate, Sorry I didn't get to your service as it was after your service I found out of your passing. Graham Simms

A sad passing of a great neighbour and friend of our family at 14 Morton parade such a laugh we had over the years with Sid and he has left us with fond memories his infectious spirit and his witty personality always had a G’day for us when he sat on his veranda across the road rest in peace mate and don’t worry we will always remember you forever cheers Dave & Kim Smith
