Our Uncle Marty. You will be missed. You were always quick with a joke. You were always quick with an opinion and you also knew when not to have one. You were kind and thoughtful and made a wicked cup of coffee. You showed my family more love than i could ever imagine. You and Lystra help me through some of our most difficult times and now you are no longer with us. A spot in my heart that now can only be filled by your memory. I will be looking up as I do most night and reflect on an amazing man taken way to early. Please Say hi to Lisa as I am sure you and her are up there now looking down on us sharing stories and memories of times gone by. I know when you two get together you could move mountains, try not to move to many mountains up there mate. I hope to see you on the other side one day but not too soon.

Our neighbour, Gaffey, had many qualities. His hearty, wicked laugh, his love for his family, his beaming smile, and the way he was able to engage with the kids at St John’s over many years of service. He was also a hero and role model of the RFS. He will be sadly missed.
Josh’s memory was Gaffey saying to every class, “ I'm old, I’m cranky and I’m in need of a coffee, so if your name isn’t coffee watch out”.
Love from The Crossland’s.

We first met Marty when he walked onto our Dive Shop with his brother Peter as a customer. He soon became one of our best instructors and a skipper of our boats. More importantly he became a friend, a mentor, someone you could put 150% of your faith in. He provided inspiration to many of our customers and our staff.
Marty was a big man in many ways, his personalty, his always positive attitude, his heart and generosity. A big man with a heart of gold.
Marty- it was an honour to have had you in our lives!
Our hearts go out to Lystra, Laura, James and family
Love Bill and Julia

Thank you for being a dear friend, confidante and amazing support during the years I was lucky enough to work with you and beyond. No matter what else was happening, you always checked in and made sure everything was “tickety-boo”, to say you will be missed is of course a ridiculous understatement. I truly feel honoured to be one of your many friends and to have been able to draw on your wisdom, share your jokes and be engulfed in your hugs! All my love to you Gaff, Lystra, Laura, James and your whole beautiful family, Loreena, Jim, Jess, Christina and Sophia Doumbos xxxxx

I met Martin when I joined the RFS as a 16 year old of Erowal Bay Brigade. He was always a funny, caring and steadfast member of the brigade, no matter the situation. His dedication to the RFS is something to be proud of, and his jovial and supportive attitude will be missed by many.
I wish Martin's family, friends and RFS family condolences for their loss. May his memory bring you comfort.

Martin is a huge man: huge in heart, in concern and warmth for others, fierce love of his family. Nothing Luke warm about Marty, he was on your side 150%, when he was 'in' he was all in. I found his generosity humbling, his humour engaging - he had a jokey way of looking at even the toughest circumstances -- just think about his last few months
A wonderful friend to teach with, to go bush with, to sit with, to count as a friend .
I miss Marty .... and will cherish the gift he has been in my life and to so many others.
I have been honoured to know and love Martin and his family.

Gaff approached everything with commitment and certainty. He was an exceptional teacher, always concerned with his students welfare. He was generous, compassionate, humorous, and always loud. We took kids on hikes, camps and overseas trips, and he was always a tower of strength. Gaff was a great friend, and will be sorely missed

I was at St Albert’s with Martin known to us all as Gaff, at University. I remember many fun times, a great friend, a hard worker and a man who was always true to himself. My thoughts are with you at this sad time. I have let the Albies Alumni know as so many will be saddened by the news,
