Sending my deepest condolences to the James family.
I met Jessie at shoalhaven care community, he was my favourite resident, I enjoyed a chat with him every chance I got to brighten up his day.
The last outing was at Bomaderry bowling club in June and Jessie enjoying a beer.
He will be sadly missed.

Jesse & I joined the Navy as Stores Assistants round the same time.
We linked up in 1965 at Nirimba both Went on to rep Navy & services.
We progressed thru the Rank structure together with Jess making Warrant Officer with me a lowly Chief Petty Officer.
We played both Navy Rugby and league together through the 60’s 70’s n early 80’s.
To sum it all up, I recall going to a pre knock out round robin comp between South Sydney & Cronulla bout 72ish.
I went with neighbour n good friend The Late John Sattler & Jesse arrived with Bob MacArthy, who was Jesse’s ol school mate from Surry Hills.
After a couple of games Satts come over to me and requested an invitation to MY LITTLE MATE.
“ He knows how to play this game Trevor” Satts said.
For all our years as footballers I reckon that was the greatest comment.
I E Australia’s Kangaroos & South Sydney Captain wants to meet Jess.
My wife Robin & I stayed several times with Jesse & Pam in their home in Berry Street.
One of our sea daddies was a champion Navy/Services player was the late Bluey Guild who with Jess’s help together we had the Albatross rugby field named in Blues honour.
These last years Jess would call from the nursing home for an update.
Although well qualified to get TPI through his service related injuries , His work ethics kept him driving the cab after deregulation of the milk industry sadly ruined him.
Thank you Jess for sharing your life and love of rugby & league with me.
Also all the laughs n great times after the games.
Love ya Jesse, Ship stored n ready for sea Sailor.

now we’re coming home, all of us together and i wish he could see this.

My sincere condolences to the James family. Jessie was my first Chief in the Navy at HMAS Watson back in 1980 when I was a young 17 year old sailor. He left a lasting impression on me that lasted a life time.
Sincerely,
Colin Creek
