Tribute from Joyce Bunei's Family We learnt of the passing on of Nathan with shock and alot of sorrow, we could not understand how he went too soon. Since we heard the sad news, we have been praying for Joyce and Nathan's family and friends for God's comfort, peace and strength. We did not get the opportunity to meet Nathan physically though we were looking forward to meeting him in November this year, when we expected them to come visit us then pick Nicole and Kayla and go back with them to Australia. We got to talk to Nathan whenever Joyce called home and they were together. He was updated about what was happening here in Kenya and he would ask questions to follow up. He had taken the initiative to learn Swahili which is one of the Languages spoken in Kenya. They had even composed a song in swahili. We have no doubt that Nate truly loved Joyce. We will miss Nathan very much. May his soul rest in peace

Words are never enough at a time like this, but please know that caring thoughts are with you In high school Nathan and Scoop noticed that a group of girls from the area that I lived in were being not very nice so one recess they walked across the quad, picked up my school bag and took it back over to where they were sitting and told me I would sit with them for as long as I needed. That extraordinary act of kindness changed my entire life for the better. Fast forward a couple of decades and my teenage daughter was having a lot of issues, and I was struggling to work out how best to help her. That was when Nathan told me that he had always thought that "everything I did always had a hint of the ridiculous about it, that Ella is definitely her mother's daughter so I should encourage her to be herself, help her to accept that she's a little bit different to everyone else and to embrace her inner weirdo". I took his advice, it took a while, but we got there in the end and she has now grown into an amazing young woman. This amazing act of kindness and timely advice changed both of our lives and for that we will be forever grateful. Nathan, your ability to make people feel safe to be themselves and to make us all smile knew no bounds. Your shining light will be missed. The world is a little less bright without you in it

Oh my! I send you all so much love in this hard time to comprehend. I’ve known Nathan since our teenage years and last saw him when he traveled to Qld for my 40th nearly 7 years ago. Distance meant we rarely hung out in recent times but we always kept in touch and shared memories of high school shenanigans of Nowra days, concerts in Woolongong and Sydney and then coming to live in Brisbane and working with my ex-husband. Nathan cared so much for all his friends and family. May he rest in peace xx Love to you all I will be with you via the online streaming - in Sunshine Coast - QLD

Nathan you were a part of our Hanson Crew, we spent holidays together, nights out on the town Brisbane. Your love and care for your mates showed all the time. We loved you so much, I will miss you until I see you again. Love to all the family.

I had the absolute gift of having Nathan in my life from early childhood. He was always the most beautiful soul. His love of music is legendary. Always a snappy dresser Nathan had the best style that truly represented his personality. Later years Nath and I worked night shift. Me in St George Hospital, Nath driving trucks. We would call each other at 2am and just talk about anything and everything. He saved me during the covid pandemic, where I would go to work and not know what to feel, touch or think.. Covered in protective clothing, Nathan would be my line of strength and calm. We are a tight knit bunch. Shoalhaven High School class of 95. We lost our North Star, Daniel Cooper long ago. But we still feel it to this day and lean on each other. To have those bonds, to mourn each other and hold each other in such ways is a gift that will keep my heart. Nathan was the most wonderful, individual, beautiful, funny, soulful person. I will miss him for the rest of my days. But I feel blessed to call him a dear friend.
