On behalf of Annette Hamilton,
Tom did wonders for children struggling with their education and was positive about each and every one of them. He was mischievous, very funny and exceptionally intelligent, as I also found Robin to be. There was nothing more stimulating than having a conversation with both of them. He introduced me to Bundy rum....which is still my favorite. We were on the same committee at one stage. Tom was an exceptional person. Robin has had so many years with him. My thoughts are with you all at this time. xxx

Such a truly sad time for Robin and her wonderful family. I feel that I have been truly blessed in knowing Tom from the 1960’s, and doubly blessed in that I still have all the emails we swapped, as well as a drawer full of the letters and articles he sent me over the years, to which I still delve on occasion, bringing back wonderful memories.
My deepest sympathy to all the family. Vale Tom.

It is with much sadness and a tear in my eye that I write this message to you Robin and your loving family. I will always remember the day I met Tom at the Great Southern Hotel. I had a t-shirt on from Ireland so he introduced himself and said if I like a bet there is a horse running tomorrow called Dublin Lass. Well that by chance meeting turned into such an amazing friendship. I use to so look forward to meeting Tom down the pub after work on a Friday and listen to his stories while he enjoyed his 2 beers. How ironic that when I had to leave Berry for work that I end up in Nelson Bay where Tom had already told me of the times that him and Robin had lived here. I also live in Primary Crescent which is where the Primary school was when they were here.
When I go to the Seabreeze Hotel now I raise my 1st beer and say what Tom said each Friday "I love you, I love you, how do they make it so cheap". I have a lot of people that I call friends Tom but you will always be remembered as one of my truly great mates. We may have only spoke on the phone or email these days but I will still miss you so much.
Kind Regards
Nick & Suzanne
