My condolences to family and friends. She was a fantastic teacher and a kind, warm hearted person. Although it has been a few years since I've attended school, I remembered all the best and kindest teachers, so it's safe to say I will never forget her. Helen was my english teacher back in 2008 and I truthfully have the loveliest memories of her teaching me how to 'adult'.
She was the sweetest lady and I am so incredibly sorry to hear of her passing. She will truely be missed xxx

Mrs Montgomery, my favourite high school English teacher. I was so obsessed with The Beatles and we bonded over the Fab Four. I have a vivid memory of her bringing a photo to show me, of herself on a beach when she was young, in a long 60's/70's frock. Her story of her car accident with her brother always stayed with me too. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. Best, Bonnie.

Tim, Ali and Susie,
So sorry that Gerard and I could not be with you today but we were thinking of you all and spent time talking of Helen and what a wonderful thing it was to have known her. Her steel and gentleness were remarkable - I used to tell her often that she was a small but feisty package and always admired her commitment to ensuring justice and fairness for all those she knew and all those she knew suffered no matter where they were in the world.
I know I am not alone in saying that I will miss her enormously - she was a fine person and a loyal friend and has left a big hole in all of our hearts.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs Montgomery was my English teacher throughout high school. She was a lovely lady with a great deal of patience. She will be remembered for the beautiful person she was. Please know that she made going to school a little easier for me after my father passed away. She offered me her shoulder to cry on if i needed it and a listening ear. So sad to hear shes passed away. My thoughts are with you's.

I was very sad to hear of the passing on Mrs Montgomery. She was a wonderful English teacher and such a lovely lady. She was my roll call teacher and English teacher at Nowra High school. Her beautiful smile will be missed by so many students and teachers of Nowra High.

Dear Montgomery Family
I had the privilege of being a student in Helen's class several times between 1996 and 2001. She helped me get through HSC English and I wouldn't have made it without her. In fact, I was put into another class in Year 12 and I approached the head teacher and insisted that he move me to Mrs Montgomery's class. She was the best teacher I had during my time at Nowra High and school will be a quieter place without her.
I thank her for her guidance, support, kindness and friendship.
May she rest in peace.

Miss Montgomery was my English teacher in 1998. She was always very encouraging and supported my creativity which is what I needed from a teacher. One of the things I remember is we used to have little chats about my work, some teachers don't do that but she always took the time to give me feedback & encouraged me to continue writing. She even let me get away with submitting a poem that had swearing. Lol. I'm very sad to hear of your loss, as a student she made me fall in love with English & I have such fond memories of her grace & smile. I offer my condolences to you & your family during this time, I can't make the funeral as I live in QLD but please know she was an amazing lady & a happy person to be taught by & one that helped shaped my life & career.
