Memories of Helmut 'Hal' Jeske
It feels like a lifetime ago, when my family first came to Australia. We lived in Sydney, my mom Annelies Daphne Moran, my sister Karen and myself Kristine, we lived in Hunters Hill at the time, not a worry in the world was had.
Merrilyn, Helmut, Carolyn and Scheryl also lived in Hunters Hill. They had a very steep driveway. The home was absolutely beautiful and full of laughter.
We had birthday parties, play dates abound and of course Sunday School and Summer camps.
I remember so many happy times, The Volvo adventures where we would go to camp in the car, piled up high with pillows, music and laughter. I will never forget these times.
Good summer times they were and bonfires in camp singing quite badly were had until we all piled back into the Volvo and drove home. I often wonder where this place was as my memory of this eludes me.
Our bond has never broken, Scheryl was in the same year grade and age as my sister, Carolyn and I were one year up, our bond has always been there and we have been friends ever since.
Special mention of the trampoline in the backyard, overlooking Sydney Harbour, bouncing until we could bounce no more. We would swim in the harbour, climb trees and laugh. Sleep overs probably drove the adults in the home mad !
The Jeske family are friends to so many and Helmut together with Merrilyn made sure you felt welcome.
I often think about how blessed we are to have these memories.
From myself, Karen, my mother Annelies Daphne, Greg and I, just know we wish we were there today and love you all so very much, as we are there in spirit.
The memories will live on forever.
All our love
Kristine Fleming & Family

Memories of Helmut "Hal" Jeske
My first husband Gerd and I met Helmut "Hal" and Merilyn and their two beautiful daughters on a wonderful horse riding weekend at Tugalong Station, Canyonleigh, in 1976. We shared a love of adventure and the outdoors and our friendship grew. Helmut was Best man at our wedding in1980 and Merilyn and the girls played important roles too. We continued to share many wonderful weekends at their home in Henley, watching Hal as a loving, supportive, proud dad. Gerd and Hal enjoyed watching the Bathurst 500 each year together, often boating and pulling up the crab pots and so we enjoyed those dinners of fresh crab and other amazing delights! Hal was always so interested in our growing family and our son Luke treasured the fun times with Uncle Hal! We were honoured when he became Godfather to our little daughter Catherine in 1986. When the family moved south we continued to enjoy our visits to the beach at Culburra and later to the beautiful farm at Camberwarra.
In 1995 when I remarried, Hal and the family flew to the Gold Coast to help Wayne and I celebrate our wedding day and the beginning of our new life with our large blended "Taylor Bunch"! We always felt such support and warmth and wonderful acceptance of our new family. Thank you Hal for the treasured memories and your kindness, hospitality, passion and friendship. We feel blessed to have shared your spirit and joy of life.We believe that your beautiful spirit lives on! The Taylor family will keep those treasured memories in our hearts forever.
We send our love, thoughts, prayers and sympathy to Merilyn, Carolyn and Michael and family, Scheryl and Sam and families.
We believe Hal is now free from all worry and at peace in God's tender care. Rest in Peace dear Hal. Your memories will live in all our hearts forever.

I met Helmut at Palm Beach in 1974, when we parked our Volvo’s alongside each other and got chatting about our cars. We were kindred spirits, sharing our love of Volvo’s, snorkelling, fishing and the outdoors generally. A great friendship was formed. In 1980, Helmut honoured me by being the BEST ‘best man’ a fellow could ask for, at Jenni and my wedding. Our families have been intertwined ever since. Always generous with his time and support, he will be sorely missed by all the Marcus family.

Uncle Helmut, my godfather, sharing the same birthday......you were getting tired. God closed his arms around you and whispered “Come To Me”.
Left are wondrous memories. We will meet again, Marianne
