Sad news of Pamela's death. Unfortunately, we can't make it to the funeral but two of our daughters, Rachel and Beatrice, will be there for us.
We first met the Virgona family when they had bought a house in Canberra and needed somebody to take over their lease. Jim had got a job in Canberra and the Gralton family moved into the Virgonas' Hughes house in late 1979. They invited us to their housewarming party and eased us into life in Canberra by introducing us to their many friends from parish, school and neighbourhood. Thereafter we kept in touch. Pam was always very welcoming and we were regularly included in their family activities and they in ours including memorable times at Malua Bay.
When they moved away from Canberra we kept in touch and often visited them in Mosman. Our children also formed friendships with Pam and Robert's children.
We retain very fond memories of Pam and of course of Robert, too. May they rest in peace.
