Roger McAlister posted a condolence

Hi my name is Roger McAlister, Ray & Betty McAlister's son.
So sad to hear of Brians passing. To Lorna and family please accept my heart felt condolences.
I grew up at 'the rail' and have many fond memories of times with Aunty Phil and Uncle Harold and their three sons _and their B&W TV, the first in the area. I remember many games of tennis with Al, Ted, Lorna and of course Brian, who we all called 'Pancho' - (from Pancho Gonzales, a famous pro player from yesteryear). Brian had a lethal serve with a unique knee action that he delighted in bamboozling everyone with and always delivered with a broad grin. A wonderfully dry sense of humour and a kind demeanour are characteristics always displayed by Brian. For a time he used to work with my Dad at the steelworks as diesel drivers and they got on so well. I know Mum and Dad also held Brian in very high regard.
Now looking at his photo here on my computer I see an amazing resemblance to Aunty Phil, she was such a gentle, loving person and Brian shared her nature so closely.
So again Love to Lorna & Family with deepest sympathy. Roger McAlister (Bli Bli Qld)

Our sincere condolences to Aunty Lorna, Sharon, Gaye, and their families on the very sad loss of Uncle Brian. There are so many happy memories – he had such a great sense of humour and such a warm laugh that will never be forgotten! We'll be pleased to join the memorial service electronically from afar, and our thoughts are with you all on this sad sad day.
Here's a photo from happier times – one of the many catch-ups at Kiama (2017)
Lots of love, Andrew & Jonathan

It was with great sadness that we were informed of the passing of Brian.
The Goodwin Family and the McAlisters have been connected through all our lives.
For me Brian could have one of my Brothers
Many memories of the 3 Goodwin boys all of my age group cannot be forgotten.
No quarter taken in card games! the wrestles as kids! I remember them well! Ouch!
And his knowledge of trains, was phenomenal. Oh so many memories!!!
So soon after the death of Brian’s brother (Al) Harold it all seems so unreal .
He will never be forgotten
Brian was a great Family man … loved a joke ..
I can hear him laughing now with that slow drawl and happy disposition …
memories … Arthur McAlister

To All Brian's Family, and Lorna in particular,
Mary and I send our sincere thoughts and wishes to you all.
Brian was larger than life in so many ways... almost like a another brother to the McAlister boys.
We will miss him from our lives, but not his memory that will live on...
Arthur McAlister, on behalf of all the McAlister Family
